Awakening Self Compassion
November 2-5, 2017
Self-compassion feels like coming home to a world that we have always wanted: accepting and attuned; a world of warmth in and for ourselves. Join us for this training to learn self-attunement skills, loving self-talk, disengaging from the inner critic and mindfulness.
Self-compassion is the capacity to meet our experiences mindfully, softening around difficult moments, and bringing a wise and caring response. It is based in sensing and deeply knowing our inherent goodness. Mindful Self-compassion has been found to reduce depression and anxiety, increase well-being, enhance relationships and support motivation.
Retreat activities include meditation, short talks, mindful movement, experiential exercises, group discussion, and practices that you can do at home. The goal is for participants to directly experience self-compassion and learn practices that evoke self-compassion in daily life.
Mindful Movement practices help you learn to love your body, feel the body’s inherent grace, soothe your body and emotions, and feel centered and balanced. The movements that we will experience in this retreat can help shift your frame of reference from thinking and worrying, to holding life in a more self-compassionate, spacious and heart-full way.
