Mind and Body Retreats Sausalito

Life in Sausalito has its own rhythm: morning fog lifting off Richardson Bay, visitors crowding Bridgeway on the weekends, and the city of San Francisco always just across the Golden Gate. Even in a place this beautiful, it can be hard to truly switch off. Ratna Ling offers Sausalito residents a quiet sanctuary on a forested ridge above the Sonoma Coast. There, redwoods, open meadows, and sweeping Pacific views replace traffic, crowds, and screens.

Our mind and body retreats combine gentle yoga, guided meditation, breathwork, and mindful movement, with generous time for rest and reflection in nature. Maybe you’re balancing a demanding career in the city, carrying stress you can feel in your body, or simply longing for a few days of real quiet. A weekend at Ratna Ling helps you slow down, restore your energy, and reconnect with yourself.

Coastal Mind & Body Getaways for Sausalito Residents

You don’t need a long-haul flight to find deep rest. From Sausalito, Ratna Ling is a scenic drive north through Marin and Sonoma County, along the Russian River, and up the rugged coastline. It’s close enough for a weekend, yet far enough to feel like a world away. Explore our upcoming mind and body retreats below and reserve your place for a weekend of renewal.

Sausalito Mind & Body Retreat FAQ’s

A mind and body retreat typically blends guided sessions, such as gentle yoga, meditation, breathwork, or mindful movement, with shared meals and open time to rest or explore the grounds. The specific schedule depends on the program and teacher. Each retreat page describes what the weekend will include.

First-time guests are always welcome, and no prior experience is needed. Practices are offered in an accessible, supportive way, and you’re encouraged to take part at whatever level feels right. Many people are surprised by how quickly they begin to relax once they arrive.

Many of our guests come to Ratna Ling because they feel overextended at work or at home. Our mind and body retreats use gentle yoga, guided meditation, breathwork, and quiet time in nature to help ease physical tension, calm the nervous system, and restore a sense of clarity.

A retreat is not a substitute for medical or mental health care. It can be a meaningful way to pause, rest, and learn simple practices you can carry back into daily life in Sausalito. If you’re managing a specific health concern, talk with your provider before attending, and feel free to contact us with questions about a program’s pace and intensity.

Retreat packages include organic, vegetarian meals prepared on-site. Our kitchen creates nourishing, balanced dishes that support your practice and help you feel grounded throughout the weekend. You won’t need to think about planning, shopping, or cooking while you’re here.

No. Ratna Ling is a Tibetan Nyingma meditation center, and our programs welcome people of all backgrounds and belief systems. Some retreats draw on Buddhist philosophy to explore the mind and emotions, while others focus mainly on yoga, relaxation, and self-care.

Meditation is introduced with clear, practical guidance, so beginners can participate comfortably. Read the program descriptions to find a retreat whose focus matches what you’re looking for.

Bring comfortable clothing you can move in, plus warm layers. Coastal weather can shift from sunny to cool and foggy within a few hours. Walking shoes, a water bottle, a journal, any medications you need, and a small flashlight for evening walks are all helpful to pack.

If your retreat includes yoga, check the program page to see whether you should bring your own mat or props. Guests remove their shoes in the lodge, so easy slip-on footwear is convenient.

Both are welcome. Many guests attend solo and find it easy to feel at home, since group sessions and shared meals offer gentle opportunities to connect with others. Others enjoy sharing the experience with a friend, partner, or family member and carpooling up from Sausalito together.

If you’re attending with someone else, you can each take part in the program at your own pace. You’ll still have plenty of time for personal reflection.
